Chief Product Officer (m/f) in Leipzig

Working closely with a highly talented team of product managers, engineers, and designers, the Chief Product Officer (CPO) will be responsible for the ongoing development of the Spreadshirt platform and services. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CPO will define the product vision, strategy, roadmap and requirements for the customer experience. The CPO should be passionate about developing a great consumer experience based on deep consumer insights and this person should be an innovator who understands how to craft a vision, get people excited by ideas, and rapidly drive concepts from the customer needs to the screen.

 

Responsibilities

  • Member of the executive team
  • Create and articulate the company's product vision and product road map
  • Lead the product development process and team
  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, entrepreneurship, and overall excellence within and around the product organization
  • Deliver product improvements and features in a timely manner with high customer acceptance and delight
  • Work closely with key product stakeholders to align technology and product strategies
  • Address tactical issues while maintaining strategic technology and organizational vision

 

Qualifications

In addition to a demonstrated and extraordinary track record of success, the selected candidate will have depth of experience designing and/or producing online services. Ideally the candidate will have worked for products with high degree of complexity. Experience in a fast moving business with good agile working practice is expected. Experience with developing an API for external use is preferred, along with the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success planning and building a global customer-centric product
  • Built and directly managed high performance agile teams of 15 or more in a growth environment
  • Ability in determining the right path when faced with ambiguous situations, lack of complete data, and the need to prioritize among multiple possible paths in a time sensitive manner
  • Ability to hire, manage, coach and inspire highly talented employees across all levels to work effectively as a cohesive team. Ability to articulate a coherent mission, focus the team, and delegate effectively
  • Background in either head of product or CTO with at least 10 years business experience post education
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred, but not required
  • Fluent in English and German

  • Has a Vision: Understands the trends of web platforms. Envisions long-term market potential and business opportunity. Preferably has experience with designing, creating and launching an e-commerce platform
